LOLOLOL....sounds like you have a hard on for the Spaghetteria. So sorry you had to open a soda can all on your own....a girl can break a nail and that would ruin the entire eve...not to mention eveyones meal in a 100ft radius of your table. Short of getting catty and sacastic...come on...it's obvious you had a personality conflict with the waitress and you didn't know how to deal with it. Grow up and get on with it. If all you have to do is complain about how a waitress didn't kiss your butt...it's a sad day. Try and enjoy the rest of your life cause honey it's going to be a long frustrating journey for you and everyone close to you.

My husband and I just had breakfast at Bouchee. We have purchased sides to go several times but never actually dined there and now we saw they are serving breakfast so we checked it out. We're going to spread the word - these people know food. Fantastic!

We were staying in Palm Springs on a 110 degree night in August, were tired from driving 8 hrs and dressed in our car clothes. We stumbled onto Zin walking down the street. We were greeted as old friends, served a great fixed price dinner, had an excellent, reasonably priced bottle of wine and a great experience. we're passing through Palm Springs again soon, and will definitely return to Zin.

This is the only place in the desert to get great deep dish Chicago style pizza. All of the dishes are terrific. The service (Joe, Sue, & Kimmie) is excellent--friendly yet professional. Great value--highly recommended for eating there or take out.

What happened to this nice little bagel shop. I've lived in Palm Desert for many years but have been gone for the last three. This little shop used to be the best kept secret in the palm springs area. The old ownerJerry made every visit a very enjoyable and delicious experience. What's up with this new owner??? He has his own picture plastered on the walls as if he had anything to do with this shop's success. The staff has also changed making this just another stop on the way home. I must admit, the bagels are still very good but I no longer enjoy sitting and sipping coffee w/a bagel. Jerry...please come back!

Terrible! ! Where do I begin?? I know, the MANDATORY GRATUITY for parties of 4 or more. 4 or more!! This gratuity is also incremental, starting at 15% for 4 and "goes up from there" per overbearing, rude daughter/server. The place, when you come in, won't even seat you as I was told to just "sit anywhere". I guess any ol plastic table-clothed table will do for my family. The occasion was my sister in law visiting from Houston, TX and Father in law visiting us from the coast as we just bought a home a few blocks down in PS and this joint was recommended by our new neighbors. Well after the gratuity I shall go to the fact that if you decide that tap water is not all you need to wet your whistle, you will be getting a Coke product in the form of an aluminum can, warm can to be exact. Sadly, I had to open it myself; how dare I assume that when I pay $1.55 for a 12oz can of soda and $15.99 for a meal that the least that I expected was a drink that didn't require a 'tab pop top'. Shame on me. Don't forget that there aren't any refills in that can either or you'll be getting another $1.55 charge. Now you do get bread and a salad with your Chef Boyardee, I mean entree. The bread is Focaccia. You get a nice helping to share amongst the table but don't even think about asking for any butter because said overbearing, rude daughter/server will deny you the butter as if you'd slapped her in the face to think an establishment founded in the antiquity of Florence, Italy would have such a product in their establishment. (More shame on my part!) The salad matched the current flow of the evening as it came as a "bag" salad at best, topped with KRAFT Italian dressing (you have no choice than the "house dressing"**cough**KRAFT**cough**) and then you get a few wilted onions and a half of a slice of tomato, not a whole slice rf a quarter, but a HALF of a slice. The food came out and it was mediocre at best. Nothing special. The stuffed shells I got barely had any cheese on it and the sauce was swimming in a pool of grease. Now throughout the meal, the overbearing, rude daughter/server was laughing and chatting with the "Father"(priest) seated behind us and the lady with her daughter and the table top of 3 around the corner but this can only make me think back to the mandatory gratuity of 15% for 4 we are being forced with(as their were 4 of us) and so this here fact thereby allowing the rudeness as she can, not only treat us like trash because she is going to get her mandatory tip of 15% but that she's the daughter of the establishment owner and therefore has no fear of getting fired. I guess she felt she needs to raise the bar on the 1, 2, ans 3 top tables that she couldn't regulate her tip. Actually I think that they probably have to have such a statute because the service is so poor and the company practices are so shoddy that they'd get no tips otherwise. I have never been so insulted or felt so violated in my life by this "family owned" restaurant.

We have been checking out a variety of "authentic" Mexican restaurants in the Palm Springs area. This is, by far, the best Mexican restaurant we have tried. Our entrees included chimichanga (chicken), taco (chicken and beef), and fajita. The rice and beans were great as well...even the salsa and guacamole were homemade and excellent. Prices were quite reasonable and a few dollars less than other restaurants. Portions were large. Ambience was great. I asked one of the servers how close this food was to what she might prepare herself. She said it is the same as she would prepare for herself. That's all I needed to know. Great place!

norquista wrote about La Trattoria Bella Luna
My husband & I happened upon this wonderful little gem purely by chance. I was a little skeptical at first, as it was in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. As soon as we stepped in the front door, we were transported from the desert to a little slice of Italy. The owner, Alberto, greeted us warmly & as it was a slow night, we basically had the place to ourselves. Italian classical played softly in the background as the owner explained the menu to us. Anything we wanted changed, he could do. Anything we wanted that wasn't on the menu, he could do. He was one of the most friendly restaurant purveyors I have ever encountered, without being overly obnoxious. Warm, fresh bread with olive oil & balsamic vinegar was brought to our table as we chatted with Alberto & decided on our dinner selections. We ordered the Caprese Luna to start. As soon as it arrived at the table, I knew I was in for a very special meal. The tomatoes were big, crisp and fresh. The fresh buffalo mozzarella was melt-in-our-mouths. It was set atop a bed of mixed greens, drizzled with oil & balsamic & sprinkled with fresh basil & capers. Words can't describe how incredibly satisfied I was with this starter. Next came the soup. I had the lentil soup, which was the only part of the meal I wasn't completely enamored with. It was good, but my hubby's pasta fageoli (my spelling is awful) was the best either of us had ever eaten (our apologies to his mama). It was not tomato-based, as we were used to, & had this wonderful buttery flavor without being too heavy or filling. I would go back just for the soup! For our main courses, my husband had the mostaccioli carbonara (which Alberto warned was in the traditional Italian style, i.e. not smothered in cream). I opted for the Pollo Enzo, a chicken dish with a light butter-pignot grigio sauce. His pasta was delicious & very filling. My chicken was so tender (free-range organic), I could cut it with a fork. It was served with a nice, small side of pasta with marinara sauce & sauteed zucchini, neither of which overwhelmed the chicken or its sauce. Again, quite filling & the leftovers of both were very good for lunch the next day. Despite being full, I can always find room for dessert. Two diners who were there when we arrived had recommended the Tiramisu, made fresh that morning by the owners. I have very high standards for tiramisu & usually find myself disappointed when I order it, even from good Italian restaurants. I can safely say, this tiramisu was beyond reproach. Not too heavy, not too much coffee flavoring, & absolutely the best tiramisu I have ever had. Bar none. Alberto and Ana gave us a meal & a night to remember. The menu was fairly extensive, the prices quite reasonable, & the ambiance magnificent. The next time we are in Palm Springs, we will definitely be going back.
