Enjoy thick, juicy burgers and a whole lot more at Grill-A-Burger's expanded Palm Desert restaurant at the corner of Monterey Avenue and Country Club Drive.
Owner Rick Ameil recently acquired the empty space next door and has since added a bar serving wine and ice cold beer in the middle of the restaurant space.
It stands to reason that if you make your eatery bigger then you might also expand the menu.
One of the new additions is the ever-so-fragrant Stinking Rose. Loads of fresh chopped garlic, grilled onions, Provolone cheese, tomato, lettuce and homemade garlic aioli are all stacked on a toasted cibatta roll ($8.50).
If that isn't enough for you, be sure to get a side of homemade garlic fries topped with parsley and a sprinkle of sea salt.
Or try one of my favorites, the Avocado BLT Sourdough Burger. The name sums it up completely.
For the toasty summer months, Grill-A-Burger has added some tasty specials.
Any restaurant that has a menu item named the Burger of Insane Greatness better be able to back it up. This monster treat features two 100-percent USDA Choice beef patties which are ground fresh daily, grilled onions, tons of cheese, sautéed mushrooms, tomato, lettuce and bacon piled high on a toasted sesame bun.
It's served with a generous side of hand-cut fries.
If you're looking for something a little lighter, Grill-A-Burger has a wide selection of salads including the Acapulco Avalanche (south of the border style), the Bob Cobb Cobb Salad, Summertime Tomato Salad and the always popular Wedge.
Top it off with Grill-A-Burger's summer special — a root beer frost. This yummy treat is a cross between a root beer float and milkshake. It will cool you down so much you'll think winter has arrived - well, almost.
And since baseball and hot dogs go together like cheese and a burger, be sure to swing by and pick up a generous supply of "I Dream of Weenie-Haute Dogs" to watch the game. They're 100 percent beef.
Hit a home run with a Bronx Dog (spicy mustard, grilled onion and sauerkraut) or hit a grand slam with the Junk Yard Dog (bacon, all meat chili, Cheddar cheese, tomato, onion and relish).
