Davey's Hideaway in Palm Springs epitomizes what a great restaurant should be. When was the last time a restaurant called the next day to find out if you enjoyed your evening?

Owner Bob Jones believes in being front and center to greet his guests and thank them for their patronage. The staff is always ready to offer recommendations (including describing the ever-changing specials), and the portions are generous, starting with your pre-dinner drink.

Entrees come complete with your choice of Caesar or green salad, the always-popular classic wedge topped with ice-cold bleu cheese dressing and crumbled bacon, or soup du jour. You also get to choose a side; wonderful rice pilaf, seasoned fries, a baked potato or pasta.

All of Davey's beef is certified Black Angus corn-fed USDA choice. Choose from the Prime Center Cut Top Sirloin, Filet Mignon or the classic Delmonico Steak.

Davey's version of surf and turf includes an 8-oz. Australian Lobster Tail with drawn butter and an 8-oz. charbroiled Filet Mignon with a Merlot Peppercorn Sauce.

Seafood lovers can also feast on a full pound of King Crab Legs, perfectly sautéed Eastern Seaboard Scallops or Sand Dab Fillets topped with a mild lemon garlic butter sauce. However, Davey's Signature seafood dish is the Lake Superior White Fish served scampi style and sautéed with green onions, fresh roma tomatoes and fresh garlic.

Davey's also has plenty of salads and sandwiches. The Supreme Shrimp Salad, with a bed of garden greens, is tossed with Seasoned Rice Vinegar and piled high with succulent jumbo shrimp.

There's also a killer burger, made with fresh ground sirloin topped with gooey, melted Cotswold cheddar cheese, grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms and avocado, all piled high on a Kaiser roll with a side of Thousand Island dressing. Seasoned fries make a great a side.
