You guys moved to Austin recently, right?
Matt Agrella (left): Yeah, like two months ago—beginning of January.
What made you decide to move? Was it because of the music scene here?
Ryan Slate (center): Yeah, I think so. And just the overall vibe of the city in general. ‘Cause we were from Tallahassee, which is basically a college town. There’s a lot more going on here.
Matt: Traveling around the U.S., we always pine over these different cities, like “New York is so awesome,” or “San Francisco is so beautiful.” And Austin was the only place that we could all agree on.
So now that you live here, did you get hit up by all your friends in other bands for crash space?
Matt: Yeah, we did. The first night we got here—we were rolling into town from Tallahassee, we got here at like 6:30 in the morning—one of our friends' bands was coming in a couple of hours after us. He asked if they could crash with us, my girlfriend and I, and somehow it didn’t happen. They just never showed up.
Ryan: Yeah, what happened to those guys?
Matt: I don’t know, man.
