Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood and more celebrate the best of 2011's country music
For the second annual American Country Awards, stars flocked to Las Vegas, Nev., en masse, where the rookies were primed to take over the event. Among those who took home the big honors were Jason Aldean (Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, among many), Carrie Underwood (No. 1 Single) and Toby Keith (Artist of the Decade). Hosts Trace Adkins (also host of the inaugural awards last year) and Kristin Chenoweth strutted their stuff on the red carpet and did a fair amount of shtick on stage—including Adkins hoisting Chenoweth in a baby sling. Presenters and performers included "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery and his predecessors Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks, Lauren Alaina, the Pistol Annies, and more. Even Brad Paisley, though unable to attend, made an appearance; he addressed the crowd via satellite.
