9. "Midnight In Paris"
Director: Woody Allen; Cast: Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard
Whenever I think I'm finally done with Woody Allen—as I felt after last year's dreadful "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger"—he'll turn around and deliver a vibrant reminder of why it's foolish to write him off. In every way the biggest surprise of the year, no one expected "Paris" to be the box office success it became. I didn't even expect it to be good. One of Allen's rare forays into fantasy, the giddy, romantic lark features a star turn of comic perfection from Owen Wilson. Some movies simply make you feel good. It's one reason we go back for more.
