Wow, this place is really taking a turn for the better. Used to be known for marines and bar brawls, but that sordid vibe seems to have magically disappeared overnight. They have live local bands on Saturday nights now, and the place fills up with all the wonderful local Joshua Tree artists, friends, fans, and family of the bands (and you start to realize that here, the lines between them all get blurred and everyone becomes family.) Tonight I saw nothing but smiles all around, everyone enjoying the new vibe, and there were some really cute dancers up front :) In fact the whole place was filled with cute ladies, from the stage to behind the bar!) Shari Elf, local art gallery owner-slash-artist-slash-museum curator (AND musician!) performed, and a band called The Sibleys, from Wonder Valley, a brother and sister band who are just adorable! And got everyone pogo-ing. Yes, this place is full of high desert cool!!
