served at: The Parker Palm Springs- Formula:
2 1/2 ounces Maker's Mark
1/2 ounce Port
2 dates, muddled
Splash of hibiscus syrup
Instructions: Combine ingredients and shake. Pour straight up in cocktail glass. Enjoy with a dried orange wheel garnish and a special someone.

For this week's drink, I bring you “A Date with Mark.”
What does this cocktail bring to the table? Flowers (hibiscus syrup), wine (port) and our sweet, caramely local gem, the date.
First-date jitters? Just loosen up with the bourbon base. This cocktail is a variation of a Manhattan.
Vanilla and cinnamon notes in the bourbon lay a solid foundation for these delicate accent flavors. The rich holiday flavors that fill this chilled cocktail ease the bite of the bourbon and go down as easily as a mild, desert winter.
