Burgers & Beer has been a great place to grab a drink and watch your favorite team at their Indio location for years. Now there is a brand-spanking new location in Rancho Mirage, and this one will surely not disappoint. The paint's barely had a chance to dry, but the new location has stayed true to the formula. If you like watching sports on TV, good food and great drinks, then you'll definitely want to check out the new Rancho Mirage location.
Décor: Standard sports bar paraphernalia with autographed jerseys and other memorabilia. The real highlight of this place is the number of TVs. Oh, so many TVs. It would be difficult to put your neck in a position where you can't see a TV. If that wasn't enough, each booth has its own flat screen complete with remote control. If your game gets out of hand and you can't take it anymore, now you've got the power to change the channel and watch something a little less painful. With full satellite TV, any sporting event that's televised is now at your fingertips.
Drinks: Good selection of both domestic and imported beer on tap with four different-sized glasses to choose from, depending on how thirsty you are. They also have a very wide selection of bottled beer if you're looking for something a little more unique. If wine is more your thing, they've got you covered there as well. Happy hour Mon. through Fri. from 3 - 6 p.m. with a full bar coming soon.
Food: Obviously burgers are the staple here (hence the name) with the first page of the menu being dedicated to over two dozen different types, but the choices don't stop there. A huge selection of appetizers and bar food as well as salads, sandwiches, pasta and Mexican food will surely satisfy anyone in your party's appetite. They've also got breakfast specials on the weekends for those early games.
Crowd: Not exactly what you would expect from a typical sports bar. The bar itself can be loud with cheering/jeering going on, especially during game time, but don't be surprised to see a family sitting in a booth and keeping the kids entertained with Nickelodeon while the grown-ups watch sports on the big screens. This place has something for everyone.
Insider Tips: Need to use the bathroom but don't want to miss a minute of the action? No problem. This place has so many TVs, they've even got one in the bathroom, so no excuses now about how you missed the big play.
Bottom Line: If you like watching sports on TV, or watching TV in general for that matter, then this is your place. With a wide selection of beer and wine and a menu filled with great food, you can't go wrong at Burgers & Beer.
